About us

Association of Perinatal Medicine (APM) is a non-profit professional organization that was founded in 1999, and accepted as a member of the European Association of Perinatal Medicine in 2002 (Oslo, XVIIIth European Congress of Perinatal Medicine).

Purpose & objectives
The main purpose of the Association is to contribute to the health of pregnant women and newborn babies through the improvement of the quality of medical perinatal services.

Objectives

                    1. Providing postgraduate education and facilitating research in perinatology area
                    2. Elaborating and reviewing the clinical protocols in obstetrics and neonatology 
                    3. Establishing collaboration relationships with professional associations, state institutions and international organizations
                    4. Auditing, evaluating the quality of services in perinatal care
                    5. Collaborating with local public authorities, families and communities
                    6. Promoting and implementing EBM in perinatal care

Association's members

The members of the association are obstetricians, neonatoligists, pediatricians, USG specialists, pediatric surgeons, geneticists, midwives, and nurses.

Members of the professional society organize monthly meetings to discuss relevant clinical cases, scientific and practical reports, and reports of specialists who have been involved in trainings and various activities inside and outside the country, teaching materials, practical guidelines, care-and-treatment standards and protocols. Three-four meetings are held each year to discuss problems related to maternal and neonatal care.
